5.11.12 | Men's Tennis
Amherst, MA - The Nichols College men's tennis team rewrote the Bison's history books on Friday morning when they defeated Marywood University, 5-0, in the 2012 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship First Round at Amherst College. Not only did Nichols win its first NCAA match in its first Championship appearance, but the Bison won the first NCAA event for any sport at the College. Nichols also set the record for most single-season wins in the 68th year of the men's tennis program and extended its program-record win streak to 17 matches, dating back to March 8th.  Marywood closes their season at 11-6.

5.9.12 | Women's Lacrosse
Scranton, PA – Marywood University's second-seeded women's lacrosse team advanced Eastern States Athletic Conference (ECAC) Mid-Atlantic Region semifinals with a 15-9 victory over #7 Morrisville State College on Wednesday evening.  The Pacers, who got six points from Kimberly Commisso and four goals from Diana D'Achille, improve to 15-4 this spring and will host the ECAC Semifinals and Championship game this weekend.

Scranton, PA - Marywood University will be offering a summer swim team for swimmers ages 6-22.  The program will run from May 7 to August 3 for swimmers 9 and older and May 14 to August 3 for swimmers 8 and younger.  The team will be accepting new registrations through Friday, June.  The team will be members of the NEPA Summer Swim League as well as USA Swimming.  Please contact Greg Brown for additional information about the program via emal at gregbrown@marywood.edu or download the information and registration forms below (pdf format).

Scranton, PA – Three Marywood University spring sports teams have earned bids to the Eastern College Athletic Conference playoffs.  The Pacers' men's and women's lacrosse teams and the softball team all earned their second-consecutives bids to the ECAC Tournament.  The softball team will will host the double-elimination tournament this coming weekend.  ECAC announcements for the South Region Baseball tournament are not expected until next Monday.

Indianapolis, IN - Marywood University's men's tennis team, the 2012 Colonial States Athletic Conference Champions, will take on Nichols College in the opening round of of the NCAA National Championship tournament on Friday at Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts.  The Pacers, who are 11-5 on the year, will take on the 17-3 Bison, who earned an automatic bid by winning the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship.  The winner of Friday's match will advance to face host Amherst College, who is 29-2, on Saturday.  The other Second Round game Saturday features The College of New Jersey (11-3) and Vassar College (14-10).

Boyertown, PA – Third-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy College took advantage of five errors by Marywood University on their way to a 5-2 win over the Pacers in an elimination game at the Colonial States Athletic Conference Baseball Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Griffins improve to 24-18 on the season and advance to take on Neumann University in another elimination game on Saturday night while the Pacers' record slips to 22-18.  Marywood will now await word about a potential bid to the ECAC South Region Tournament.

5.5.12 | Women's Lacrosse
Scranton, PA – Second-seeded Cabrini College built a five-goal halftime lead and held off several surges by top seed and host Marywood University on Saturday afternoon to win the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship with a 19-16 victory over the Pacers.  The Cavaliers improve to 10-8 on the season and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament while Marywood falls to 14-4 with their first loss in their last 10 games.  The Pacers now await word on a potential bid to the Eastern States Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament.
