Scranton, PA - Trailing 1-0 in the third inning, Marywood's Kellsie Davis blasted a two-run homer to right field to give Marywood a lead they would not relinquish as the Pacers advanced to this weekend's CSAC softball championship with a 7-1 win over sixth-seeded Keystone College Wednesday afternoon in Scranton.  The Pacers, seeded third in the playoffs, improve to 22-15 and will take on second-seed Neumann University Friday morning at 10:00am at Hackettstown High School in New Jersey.  Keystone closes their season with a 19-17 overall mark.

Marywood trailed 1-0 after a bases loaded walk in the first, but Davis' second long ball of the year in the third inning put the hosts up for good.  Davis' blast also scored Kim Lope, who hit her 11th double of the year to give the Pacers a runner earlier in the inning.  Marywood added five runs in the bottom of the fourth on  a Meghin Palmer RBI single, a Davis two-run single and a Jillian Flanagan two-run single to put the game out of reach.

Marywood missed a golden opportunity to end the game via the eight-run rule when they left the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth after loading the bags with just one out.

Behind the arm of CSAC and ECAC pitcher of the week Alexandra Stine, Marywood kept the Giants in check the rest of the way as Stine picked up her ninth win of the season with a complete-game effort on the mound. Stine struck out six and allowed just four hits on the day to improve to 9-4 on the mound for Marywood.

Marywod will face Neumann Friday morning in a highly anticipated rematch.  The Pacers handed the Knights two of their three CSAC losses on the year with a doubleheader sweep earlier in the year.  Marywood beat host Neumann 10-4 and 13-12 (nine innings) on March 24th.  The CSAC softball championships are single games in a double-elimination formatted tournament.
