Marywood's Lacrosse and Softball Teams Earn ECAC Bids

Scranton, PA – Three Marywood University spring sports teams have earned bids to the Eastern College Athletic Conference playoffs.  The Pacers' men's and women's lacrosse teams and the softball team all earned their second-consecutives bids to the ECAC Tournament.  The softball team will will host the double-elimination tournament this coming weekend.  ECAC announcements for the South Region Baseball tournament are not expected until next Monday. 
 
Marywood's women's lacrosse team earned the second seed in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Region Tournament and will host seventh-seed Morrisville State College (13-5) on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.  The Pacers (14-4) earned their second-straight trip to the ECAC Tournament and if they advance, Marywood will host the semifinals and finals on Saturday and Sunday.
 
The Pacers' men's lacrosse team (9-7) also earned their second-straight birth in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament as the second seed.  The Pacers will take on third-seeded Misericordia University (11-4) at McDaniel College in Westminster, MD on Saturday  at 7:00 p.m. in a semifinal game.  Top-seeded McDaniel will host the winner of Wednesday's quarterfinal match-up between #4 Morrisville State and #5 Medialle in Saturday's other semifinal. 
 
Marywood's softball team earned their second-straight bid to the ECAC Tournament after finishing the season with a 23-17 record.  The third seeded Pacers will host the double-elimination tournament this coming weekend and will take on second-seeded Penn State-Altoona (32-10) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.   Top-seeded Catholic University will take on the winner of Wednesday's play-in game between #4 Neumann and #5 Wilson at 10:00 a.m. in Saturday's opener.
