Aston, PA – In similar fashion to their regular season matchup, second-seeded Neumann University jumped on top of No. 3 seed Marywood University early and often to eliminate the Pacers 20-10 Wednesday from the Colonial States Athletic Conference women's lacrosse tournament. The Knights scored the game's first nine goals in the conference semifinals.

Marywood (7-9) received a four-goal effort by Sarah Caughy. Kimberly Commisso contributed five points with three goals and two assists. Commisso also led the team with 16 draw controls. Stacy Griffing scored two goals and an assist.

Danielle McCabe led the Pacers with a season-high five ground balls. Dana Grossjung and Michelle Thompson each gathered three ground balls.

Pacers goalkeeper Amanda Khozouri made 12 saves.

The Pacers committed 31 turnovers to the Knights' 19 and only caused four. Neumann (14-4) outshot the Pacers 39-21 and held a 40-24 advantage in ground balls. Led by Commisso in the faceoff, Marywood won 23 of 32 draw controls.

Neumann's Lexy Wilkinson scored five goals. Koula Gregor produced four scores, and Alexa McIntyre netted three. Goalkeeper Christina Hughes made seven saves and snagged eight ground balls.

Marywood did not score its first goal of the game until Griffing caught a Grossjung feed at the 16:44 mark in the first half, halting Neumann's string of nine goals in an 11:40 span. Griffing's goal ignited a three-goal spurt that put the Pacers behind 9-3. Neumann responded with the game's next four tallies.

In similar fashion, Marywood seemed to score in bunches. The Pacers added six of the proceeding seven goals, including four in a row. Caughy found the back of the next to make it 14-9 with 14:02 remaining in the game before Gregor and Wilkinson combined for three to put the game out of reach.

Top-seeded Cabrini College defeated Immaculata University 21-8 in the other semifinal. The Cavaliers and Knights will square off in the CSAC championship game.
