Volleyball Splits to Close Out Regular Season

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Scranton, Pa. - Marywood University closed out its regular season with a split at home on Saturday. The Pacers fell to Fairleigh Dickson University-Florham before upending Lancaster Bible College.

Marywood (13-19) will host Notre Dame Maryland on Tuesday night as the No. 3 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference playoffs.

The Pacers were trounced by the Devils by scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-13. Marywood recooperated to edge the Chargers by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 25-21.

FDU-Florham 3, Marywood 0

In the opner, the Devils (24-7) took advantage of Marywood miscues. The Pacers committed at least eight attack errors in each set, posting a minus .304 percentage in the first. Marywood shot minus .042 for the match, compared to the Devils .260.

Peri Sheerin had seven kills. Jordan Vossler provided 17 digs. Annie Heyen totaled 20 assists.

Melissa Gaffney had an all-around effort for FDU-Florham (24-7) with 12 kills, four aces, 12 digs and a .444 attack percentage.

Marywood 3, Lancaster Bible 0

Marywood cut down on the errors in the nightcap, shooting .179 to the Chargers' .028.

Sheerin led the Pacers for the second straight game with 13 kills and a .357 attack percentage. Gabriella Santos finished with eight kills and four blocks.

Heyen produced a double-double with team highs in assists (31) and digs (15). Vossler contributed 10 digs, and Katie Bilello had nine digs.

Mikayla Attwood also hammered home four blocks.

Lancaster Bible (12-19) had 10 kills from Ashtyn Bouslog. Myranda Kemrer manufactured 13 digs.
