Dunmore resident Kerri Ruddy-Archer, former women’s basketball standout and 2000 graduate of Marywood University, is being honored after a decorated playing career from 1995-1999. A member of three Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoff teams, Ruddy-Archer was consistently ranked in the top 10 in the conference for rebounds in each of her four seasons as a Pacer. Still the Marywood University career record holder in offensive rebounds (400), Ruddy-Archer was named to an All-Conference team on three occasions and twice named team MVP.

A player under Coach Teri Snyder, Ruddy-Archer scored her 1,000th career point during her 1999 senior season. Her 1,192 career points ranks fifth all-time in the Marywood record books. A team captain in her final year at Marywood, she was named a PAC First Team All-Conference selection during the 1997-98 season and earned Second Team honors during the 1998-99 season. A four-year member of the conference’s academic honor roll, Ruddy-Archer also garnered Honorable Mention All-Conference accolades during her sophomore year (1996-97). That year, the Pacers led the nation as a team in rebounding margin.

Currently in her 16th year as an art teacher at Scranton High School, Ruddy-Archer also serves as the Scranton High School Track and Field coach. She is married to Vincent Archer and has five children, Kyle, Haley, Vivienne and twins James and Ivy.
