Frostburg, MD – Erin Doyle scored in the 42nd minute and sixth-seeded Marywood University advanced to Sunday's ECAC South Region Final with a 1-0 win over second-seeded Grove City College in semifinal action on Saturday evening. The Pacers improve to 15-4-2 on the season with the victory and establish a new program record for wins in a season.

Just over 41 minutes into Saturday's semifinal played at Frostburg State College, Doyle (New Hampton, NY) took a pass outside the post of the Grove City net, cut inside, spun off a defender and fired a shot back to the near post that beat Wolverines' goalkeeper Tiffany Yost. The goal was Doyle's first of the season and the third of her career.

Marywood enjoyed the one-goal lead at halftime and outplayed Grove City for much of the second half but the Wolverines nearly tied the game with just over two minutes to play in regulation. Midfielder Cara Colley beat a Pacers defender off the dribble to spring herself on a short breakaway. Colley slotted a shot past Marywood goalkeeper Meghan Coyle only to see the ball bounce off the far goalpost to preserve the shutout win for the Pacers.

Marywood held a slim, 10-9 edge in shots for the game and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks. Coyle made three saves to earn her second straight shutout victory. The senior now has 13 clean sheets on the season.

Yost finished the evening with six saves for Grove City, who sees their season come to an end with a 12-8-1 record.

Marywood will face the winner of tonight's other semifinal game between top-seeded Frostburg State and fourth-seeded Alvernia University in Sunday afternoon's final which is scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. in Frostburg.
