Scranton, PA - Making her collegiate debut in goal, freshman Melissa Paulus made four saves and Leanne McManus scored the game-winner as Marywood University defeated Ramapo College 1-0 in non-conference field hockey action Tuesday afternoon to level their record at .500 on the season.  Julie Kowalski assisted on McManus' goal as the Pacers improved to 4-4 on the year.  Ramapo fell to 1-9 with the loss.

Called into action due to a medical emergency with the Pacers' regular netminder, Paulus and the Pacers defense were solid througout the contest.  Kirsten Webb made a defensive save as well to keep the Roadrunners off the board and protect the Pacers' clean sheet.  Kowalski fed McManus on a breakaway just 6:30 into the contest for the game's lone score.

Both teams had nine shots in the game with the Pacers holding an 8-5 advantage in shots on goal. The Roadrunners had nine penalty corners to Marywood's one. 

Marywood returns to action Saturday at 1:00 pm when they host Neumann University in CSAC action.
