Field Hockey Stalls Roadrunners in 3-1 Victory

Mahwah, NJ – Marywood University came back from a one-goal deficit to down Ramapo College 3-1 to even its record Saturday in non-conference field hockey. The Pacers (2-2) outshot the Roadrunners by a 19-5 margin.

Leanne McManus scored two goals to lead the Pacers. Cassie Stockwell added her second of the season. Gabbie Bower added an assist.

Melissa Choka put the Roadrunners (1-2) ahead at the six minute mark to take an early lead.

Marywood was unable to even the score until McManus sent a Bower feed to the back of the cage at the 21:57 mark. Seventeen minutes later and 3:32 into the second half, McManus, a senior forward, tacked on her team-leading fifth goal of the year with an unassisted game-winning tally.

Stockwell added insurance at 56:03 with an unassisted goal.

Nicole Merrill made three saves to earn her second career victory in net for the Pacers. Emily Kramer provided 10 saves for Ramapo, in addition to two Roadrunner defensive saves.

Despite losing, Ramapo held onto an 8-6 advantage in penalty corners.
