Women's Soccer Closes Regular Season with 14th Straight Win

Top-seeded Marywood to take on winner of No. 4 Pratt and No. 5 Gwynned Mercy

Immaculata, Pa. — Marywood University women's soccer closed out its regular season with its 14th consecutive win on Wednesday. The Pacers defeated Immaculata University 4-0 to finish the Atlantic East Conference undefeated for the second straight season. 

Marywood will take on the winner of No. 4 Pratt Institute and No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy University. The Pacers will face their Atlantic East semifinal competition on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Marywood is the conference's No. 1 seed for the sixth straight season. 

The Pacers break a school record with their 16th victory of the season. Marywood (16-1, 7-0) previously won 15 games in 2010 and 2024. 

Both Riley Bittenbender and Caroline Walters had a goal and an assist for the Pacers. 

Marywood received goals from Carly Walters and Yianna Mazzella

The Pacers scored first in the sixth minute. Caroline Walters sent a cross for Carly Walters to head inside the 6-yard box. 

Immaculata held Marywood in check for the next 52 minutes. Bittenbender fired a shot from 28 yards out into the upper corner. 

Marywood tacked on another goal in the 61st minute. Caroline Walters turned on a Bittenbender feed at the top of the 18-yard box and delivered a shot into the upper portion of the net. 

Mazzella added her fifth goal of the season in the 87th minute. Syenna Flores sent Mazzella on the run with a throughpass. Mazzella's shot from 20 yards caromed off the post past the goal line. 

Genevieve Morrison recorded a clean sheet with seven saves. It is Morrison's eighth shutout of the year. 

The Pacers edged the Mighty Macs 13-11 in shots with a 11-7 advantage in shots on target. Marywood edged Immaculata 7-5 in corner kicks.
