Lucky No. 7! Pacers Continue Undefeated Streak at DelVal

Marywood comes back from one set down

New Britain, Pa. — Marywood University volleyball won its seventh straight match to open the season with a 3-1 win over Delaware Valley University on Thursday. The Pacers have the second-longest unbeaten streak in school history. 

Marywood came back from a one-set deficit to open the match. The Pacers won by scores of 21-25, 25-25, 25-16, 25-18. 

Marywood received 12 kills from Taylor Hallam and Genevieve Pollock. Hallam added four solo blocks. 

Gracee Work provided 11 kills for the Pacers. 

Catie Woolf led Marywood with four aces and 26 aces. Ayla Bransford totaled 29 assists. 

The Aggies' Monique Smith and Cassandra Gloster had eight kills apiece. Madison Alexander scored 20 assists and 12 digs. 

The Pacers can match the school record for consecutive wins to start a season on Saturday. Marywood takes on Penn State Harrisburg at noon and Widener University at 3 p.m. Marywood won nine straight to start the 1983 season.
