Women's Soccer Ransacks Ospreys, 2-0

Marywood earns its first series win against Stockton

Scranton, Pa. — Marywood University defeated Stockton University for the first time in women's soccer program history with a 2-0 win on Saturday. The Pacers improve to 4-1-0 on the season. 

Marywood scored two goals within a two-minute span. Caroline Walters assisted both Marywood goals. 

In the 61st minute, Carly Walters scored her fifth goal of the season on a long-distance shot from her twin sister Caroline. 

A minute later, Riley Bitttenbender scored her first Marywood goal. Bittenbender one-timed a cross from Caroline Walters with her knee into the lower-left corner of the net. 

Stockton outshot the Pacers by a 9-7 margin. Marywood had a 5-2 advantage in shots on target. The Ospreys led the Pacers 9-4 in corner kicks. 

Genevieve Morrison made two saves to earn the clean sheet. 

Marywood travels to Oswego, New York to take on the Lakers on Wednesday.
