Bill Schutter

Bill Schutter is entering his sixth season as the Marywood University women's volleyball. He has led the Pacers to an Atlantic East Conference playoff berth in each of his four seasons. 

Schutter has experience as a head coach both at the high school and college levels. He served as the head women's volleyball coach at Penn State Wilkes-Barre for four seasons.

Prior to Marywood, Schutter coached at Wyoming Area High School for three years. He led the Warriors to their first district tournament after a lengthy absence in 2018. Schutter had also served as the head coach of Dallas High School's boys volleyball team.

He is a retired Pennsylvania State Police trooper with 25 years of experience from 1991-2016.

Prior to joining PSP, he spent five seasons as the boys volleyball coach at Wyoming Area from 1987-91 with winning records each year. At the same time, he coached Penn State Wilkes-Barre's women's volleyball team with winning records each season. Schutter was named District 2 Coach of the Year in 1987.

Schutter played volleyball at then-Division I East Stroudsburg University from 1982-86. The Warriors were ranked in the Top 15 nationally during his four-year tenure. Before entering the Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 1991, he played open and semi-pro beach volleyball regionally with the USVBA. Schutter won an open beach doubles division tournament in Dewey Beach, Delaware in 1990.

Schutter graduated from East Stroudsburg in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in political science and minor in criminal justice.
