Aston, PA – Neumann College got a goal late in the first half and an insurance goal early in the second half as the host Knights (7-9, 5-3 PAC) topped visiting Marywood University 2-0 in PAC field hockey action Saturday afternoon in Aston. The loss drops the Pacers to 4-10 (3-5 PAC) on the year.
Neumann's Megan Mazur scored with just under four minutes remaining in the first half off an assist from Kerry Sinclair as the hosts took a 1-0 lead into halftime. Just over two minutes into the second half, Rachael DiCicco scored the insurance goal off an assist from Amanda Biagi for the final goal of the day.
Marywood's Stephanie Ziemski registered 13 saves on the day in the losing effort. Neumann's Chelsea Ward made 7 saves to register the shut-out.
Marywood returns to action Monday with a non-conference game at Wells College in New York at 4:00 pm.
