BOX SCORE

Baltimore, MD – Marywood University continued their shut-out streak on one end of the field but got two goals each from Claudia Mazza, Lisa Hanselman and Kayleigh Martin to end a three-game scoreless drought as the visiting Pacers topped host College of Notre Dame (MD) 8-0 in PAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon in Baltimore.

The Pacers, now 9-3-2 (5-1-2 PAC) on the year, extended their shut-out streak to three games as Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) made one save on the day to break a Marywood single-season record with her seventh solo-shutout of the year.  The Marywood defense, led by tri-captain Tori Mazza (Binghamton, NY), also registered their school single-season record ninth overall shut-out of the season.

Tori's younger sister, Claudia (Binghamton, NY), got things started on the offensive side for Marywood just 4:39 into the game when she headed home an Annie McDonald (Sag Harbor, NY) direct kick from just outside the 18-yard box near the right corner flag.  It was Mazza's second goal of the year, but she was not through as nearly 20-minutes later she headed home a Shannon Hresko (Gibbstown, NJ) corner kick to make it 2-0.

From there, Marywood's offense exploded, getting four goals in the run of play in the remaining 20 minutes of the half to take a commanding 6-0 lead into intermission.  Amanda Costello (Vernon, NJ) scored off a Claudia Mazza assist to make it 3-0 with 17:53 remaining in the first half of play and Lisa Hanselman (Manheim, PA) scored back-to-back goals, the second assisted by Lisa Gavin (Woodbury Heights, NJ), within the next two minutes to make it 5-0.  Marywood's Kayleigh Martin (Elmira, NY) scored her first of two on the day with just 44-seconds remaining in the opening half off of Gavin's second assist on the day.

In the second half, Heather Breittholz (Wallkill, NY) scored her first collegiate goal to make it 7-0 in the 58th minute.  Kelcie Reightler (Jim Thorpe, PA) was credited with her first collegiate assist on the play.  Martin closed out the scoring with just over 10-minutes to play off an assist from Katie Knisely (Manheim, PA).

Marywood held a 22-4 advantage in shots and limited the Gators (2-11, 0-7 PAC) to just one shot on goal.  Marywood returns to action Tuesday with a key PAC game against Misericordia University at 4:00 pm.
