Scranton, PA - Marywood University swept doubles play and won five of six singles matches as the host Pacers topped visiting Baptist Bible College 8-1 in non-conference women's tennis action Tuesday afternoon in Scranton.
Marywood's Ryann Null (Cogan Station, PA) teamed with Samantha Miller (Ashley, PA) to earn a 8-4 win at 1-doubles over Nicol Douglas and Carrie Brame. At 2-doubles, Jodi Balch (Matamoras, PA) and Sarah Donohoe (Glen Mills, PA) earned a 8-1 win for the Pacers.
In singles play, Nicol Douglas earned the lone point for the Defenders with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Null at 1-singles. From there, Marywood swept singles action to improve to 6-8 on the year. Baptist Bible fell to 4-8 with the loss, their second of the season to Marywood.
Marywood returns to action Thursday when they host Alvernia College at 3:00 pm.
