Gwynedd Valley, PA - Gwynedd-Mercy College got a goal from Walt Mikolajewski midway through the second half and the host Griffins held on for a 2-1 PAC win over visiting Marywood in the final game of the 2007 season for both teams.
The Griffins (5-9-5, 2-3-2 PAC) opened the scoring in the 23rd minute when Dennis Helverson converted a header on a Joe Chilutti cross to put the hosts up 1-0. Marywood's Anthony Roma (Endicott, NY) responded just over 14 minutes later when he finished the rebound of a Derek LaLone (Mannsville, NY) shot to knot the score at 1-1. Mikolajewski would provide the game-winner for the Griffins at 61:40 on an assist from Helverson.
Gwynedd-Mercy held a 12-8 advantage in shots. Marywood's Jonathan Tyson (Moscow, PA) made four saves while Gwynedd-Mercy's Joe Schneider made four in the win. The Pacers (5-12, 0-8 PAC) finished the season with the most wins in program history.
