BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Marywood had its two-game winning streak snapped as visiting King's College rallied to score four unanswered and defeat the Pacers 4-1.  The loss drops the Pacers to 4-9 for the season, while the Monarchs, who are the defending Freedom Conference champions, moved to 8-3.

Caitlin Hadzimichalis (Harmony, NJ), who earlier in the day was named PAC Player of the Week, gave Marywood the early lead when she scored her team-leading ninth goal of the season unassisted 11:39 into the contest.  The Monarchs would answer at the 18:10 mark as Sarah McGrady took a feed from Jackie Snover and found the back of the cage.

Snover put the Monarchs ahead just over three minutes later, scoring off assists from Megan Farrell and Grace King at the 21:14 mark.  Farrell then gave King's a two-goal cushion heading into halftime by scoring unassisted with 9:52 left in the period.

In the second half, Debbie Wychock rounded out the scoring with an unassisted tally for the Monarchs with 6:20 to play in the contest.

King's out-shot Marywood 28-6 on the afternoon and also held a slim 6-5 advantage in penalty corners.  Stephanie Ziemski (Lake Hiawatha, NJ), who entered the game with a 149-minute shutout streak, made 24 saves for the Pacers, while Kari Leach made five saves for the Monarchs.

Marywood returns to action on Thursday when they travel to Bethlehem, PA to take on Moravian College in a non-conference game.
