BOX SCORE
Dallas, PA – Marywood's Matt Medici led all scorers with 22 points on the night but it was not enough as Penn State-Hazleton rebounded from a three point halftime deficit to top the Pacers 70-63 in the consolation game of the 16th annual Laurel Line Tournament at Misericordia University's Anderson Center Saturday night.
Medici (Princeton, NJ) was 10 of 15 from the floor and grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds for the Pacers (0-2). Prince Blacknall (Stroudsburg, PA) followed his 28-point performance from Friday night with an 18-point performance Saturday. However, Medici and Blacknall were the lone Marywood players to break into double-digits, while the Lions had four players in that column, led by Mark Scarcella.
James Harley and Keiser Zamora each added 10 for the Lions, who improved to 1-1 on the year. The Lions had built a 55-37 lead in the second half before Marywood mounted a comeback that would fall short.
For his efforts between both games of the tournament, Blacknall was named to the All-Tournament Team. Marywood returns to action Tuesday evening when they open an eight-game home-stand at the Insalaco Arena against Penn State-Scranton at 8:00 pm.
