BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA –  Marywood's Prince Blacknall scored a game-high 14 points and Jerome Gosney added 13 as the Pacers picked up their first win of the season with a 73-47 non-conference win over Penn State-Worthington Tuesday evening in Scranton.  The loss drops the Lions to 0-1.

The Pacers built a 13-point lead at the break (38-25) thanks in part to six first-half three pointers.  Marywood limited PSU-Worthington to just 14.2% (1-7) shooting from behind the arc and forced 13 turnovers in the first half which resulted in 10 Marywood points.  Blacknall (Stroudsburg, PA) was 2-2 from behind the arc in the first stanza and 3-6 from the field to lead the Pacers with 10 first-half points, while the Lions' Corey Walsh (Scranton) led his squad with eight first-half points.

Trailing 10-9, Marywood made a 5-0 run to regain the lead and would not lose it again.  A 14-2 run later in the first half began with back-to-back threes from Gosney (Binghamton, NY) and Josh Pena (New York City, NY) extended Marywood's lead to 14, 32-18.  Back-to-back threes from Tyler Reinhard (Highlands, NJ) and LB Feduchak (Hop Bottom, PA) ended the run.

Worthington fought back to within nine in the second half (47-38) but Marywood responded with a 13-2 run to stretch their lead back to 20 (60-40).  Adam Joyce (Bishop Hannan) led the Lions with a 12-point effort while Walsh added 11 in the loss.

Marywood returns to action Wednesday November 28 when they host Davis College in a non-conference tilt at 7:00 pm.
