BOX SCORE

LaPlume, PA – On the road for the first time this season, Marywood University rallied from a 21-point second-half deficit and had four players in double figures as the Pacers remained unbeaten with a 59-56 win over host Keystone Tuesday night. Marywood improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Giants, who will join the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference next season, fell to 0-2.

Keystone had built a 17-point lead at the half before extending the lead to 41-20 with just over 18 minutes left to play, but it was from that point that the Pacers went on a 39-15 run the remainder of the way to pull out the win.

It was not until 1:36 left in the contest that Marywood grabbed their first lead of the night at 56-55 when Bryanne Unger converted one of two free throws.  Marywood built the lead to 57-55 when Stephanie Fusaro hit one of two from the stripe.  After Jessica Kobesky closed the gap to 57-56, Caitlin Hadzimichalis hit two free throws with six seconds left to provide the final margin.  The Giants attempt at a game tying three from 25 feet was off the mark as time expired.

The contest was the second consecutive game in which Keystone lost a double digit lead in the second half, having let a 14 point lead slip away at Immaculata.

Amanda Lass (Brackney, PA) led the Pacers attack, scoring 17 points and pulling down 8 rebounds. Marywood got 12 points and 7 boards from Stephanie Fusaro (Bala Cynwyd, PA), while Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) and Caitlin Hadzimichalis (Harmony, NJ) each chipped in 11 points.

Kobesky led the way for Keystone with 14 points, while Yasmeen Bates added 12 and Kelli Brago 11.  Bates paved the way on the glass with nine rebounds.

Marywood will return to action this coming Saturday when they open their PAC schedule against visiting Immaculata University in a game scheduled to tip-off at 1:00 p.m.
