BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Almost two years to the day that Cabrini erased a 21-point deficit to shock Marywood, the Pacers came up short in their attempt to return to the favor after facing a 16-point halftime deficit as the Cavaliers held on for a 72-61 victory in Monday night's PAC contest in Scranton.  With the win, Cabrini improves to 3-3 overall in 2-1 in conference play, while the Pacers see there record slide to 2-4 overall in 0-2 in the PAC.

Cabrini used a 14-2 run over a span of seven and a half minutes to build a 30-18 lead midway through the first half, a lead they would extend to 16 as the teams headed to their locker rooms.  Randy Reid led the Cavaliers, who shot 51.7 percent from the field for the half, with 13 points, while Lamar Fisher chipped in eight points.  Matthew Medici led the Pacers with 12 first-half points, as Marywood shot 37.5 percent from the floor in the first stanza.

In the second half, Jerome Gosney's (Binghamton, NY) three-pointer brought the Pacers to within 8 with 12:04 to play, but a 7-0 run by the Cavaliers stretched their lead back to 15 points.  However, Marywood stayed hot from beyond the arc and narrowed Cabrini's lead to eight again after Joshua Pena (New York City, NY) hit his second straight 3-pointer with 7:19 to play as the Pacers shot an impressive 46.7 percent from three-point land in the second half.

After Bruce MacLelland hit two free throws for Cabrini, Marywood rattled off a 6-0 run culminated by Prince Blacknall's (Stroudsburg, PA) steal and lay-up that brought the Pacers to within four points with 5:14 to play.  However, this is as close as the Pacers would come as the Cavaliers were solid from the line down the stretch.

Reid led all scorers with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Bruce MacLelland chipped in 16 points and nine boards.  Glenn Washington also finished in double digits for the Cavaliers, adding 15 points.  Medici led Marywood with 16 points and eight rebounds, while Blacknall added 13 points and 6 assists.  Pena rounded out the Pacers' double-digit scorers with a season-best 12 points.

Marywood will be idle until after the Christmas holiday and will return to action on Saturday, December 29th when they host Rutgers-Camden in a non-conference tilt scheduled to tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
