Scranton, PA - Marywood University's women's tennis team earned a 7-2 win over Baptist Bible College in the 2007 season opener for both teams Friday afternoon in Scranton.
The Pacers, under the direction of first-year Head Coach Peter Hubiak, won at #2 and 4-6 singles and swept doubles play. Ryann Null teamed with Samantha Miller to earn a 8-5 win at #1 doubles for Marywood over Nicol Douglas and JoAnne Crompton while Miller topped Crompton in singles play 6-2, 6-2.
Baptist Bible earned points at #1 singles as Douglas topped Null 6-1, 6-1 and with a injury default win at #3 singles.
Marywood (1-0) returns to action next Tuesday when they visit Keystone College in LaPlume for a 4:00 pm match while Baptist Bible (0-1) will visit Keystone on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.
