BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA - Marywood University's Marissa Ruda recorded a hat-trick as the Pacers remained unbeaten and moved to 5-0 on the year as Marywood defeated visiting Cedar Crest College 6-0 in PAC women's soccer action Thursday afternoon in Scranton.  The loss drops the Falcons to 1-3 (0-1 PAC) on the year.

Marywood (1-0 PAC) opened the scoring early as Marissa Ruda (Athens, PA/Elmira Notre Dame) tallied her first goal of the season just over 9 minutes into the game.  Ruda would then settle a Kristin Powers (Landenberg, PA/Kennett) cross for Annie McDonald (Sag Harbor, NY/Notre Dame) to put away just over 10-minutes later.

Ruda then tallied her second goal of the game as she took a Powers through ball at the top of the 18 and slotted the ball past Falcon keeper Caitlyn Little.  Marywood made it 4-0 with just over six minutes left in the half when freshman Laura Cordaro (Wappinger Falls,NY/Roy C. Ketcham) scored her first collegiate goal by driving a hard-shot near post at 38:58.

Ruda completed her hat-trick when she followed a Lisa Hanselman (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) shot inside the six-yard box and scored off the ensuing scramble.  Hanselman would then finish the scoring as she scored on a through ball from Powers in the 57th minute.

Marywood keepers Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) and Kim Nunez (Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) combined for Marywood's fourth shutout in five games, with Nunez making a diving save with just over five minutes left to preserve the shutout.  Little had seven saves in goal for the Falcons.

The Pacers return to action Saturday in Madison, NJ as they take on FDU-Florham in an non-conference match at 1:00 pm.
