Edwardsville, PA – Wilkes University used a three-goal second half effort to extend their 1-0 lead as the host Colonels topped visiting Marywood University 4-0 in non-conference field hockey action Thursday afternoon in Edwardsville.

Wilkes' Diana Wright scored at the 20:44 mark of the first half off a Lindsay Thomas assist and the Colonels (3-4) kept that lead into intermission.  Nearly seven minutes into the second half, Devon McKay scored the first of her two goals on the day off an assist from Kerry Battersby.  Amanda Tilley then made it 3-0 five minutes later when she scored unassisted, and McKay finished the scoring at the 62:44 mark on a Kim Baldino assist. 

Marywood, who fell to 2-3 on the year with the loss, got nine saves from Stephanie Ziemski (Lake Hiawatha, NJ/Parsippany), while Julia Smith and Serena Eber split the shut-out for Wilkes.

Marywood returns to PAC action Saturday when they play host to Gwynedd-Mercy College at 1:00 pm in Scranton.
