Scranton, PA – The College of Notre Dame (MD) earned a hard-fought 3-1 PAC volleyball win this afternoon and kept host Marywood University winless in conference play. The Gators (3-8, 3-2 PAC) dropped game one but battled back to win the next three to drop Marywood to 3-11 (0-5 PAC) on the year.
After Marywood won game one 30-25, Notre Dame battled back and took the next two games by scores of 33-31 and 34-32. The Gators then finished the match with a 30-21 win. Catherine Subrizi (Bel Air, MD) registered 21 kills on 66 attacks to lead the Notre Dame offense, while Kim Myers (Elkton, MD) added 18 kills.
Christina Kudrna (Bel Air, MD) had 40 assists on the night, while Myers had 22 digs and Kate Halbruner (Bel Air, MD) added 20. Marywood was led by Lizzy Green (Shenandoah, PA) who had 14 kills, while Katie Coyne (Stony Point, NY) dished out 31 assists.
Marywood will look to end their 9-match skid next Wednesday when they host Mt. St. Mary College in a non-conference tilt at 7:00 pm.
