Williamsport, PA – Alfred University scored two second half goals to improve to 1-1 on the year with a 3-1 win over Marywood University in the consolation game of the Lycoming Kick-Off Tournament. Marywood (0-2) got a goal from freshman Nathan Wenger (Lititz, PA/Warwick) in the loss.
Alfred opened the scoring in the 18th minute of play as senior Adam Long slotted one by Marywood keeper Danny Reynolds (Meriden, CT/Orville H. Platt). Wenger would knot the game at 1-1 in the 25th minute of play with his first career goal, but Alfred got two second half goals, including another from Long in the 88th minute, to secure the win. Reynolds recorded three saves on the day for the Pacers.
Marywood will host Lancaster Bible College at 4:00 pm on Wednesday.
