BOX SCORE

Scranton, PAKaitlyn Miller's (Trumansburg, NY/Trumansburg) unassisted goal with 4:58 left in the second overtime propelled Marywood University to a 2-1 double-overtime win over Delaware Valley College (1-3) Saturday afternoon in Scranton.  The win keeps the Pacers unbeaten and makes the women's soccer team 4-0 for the first time in the 10-year history of the program.

Lisa Hanselman (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) opened the scoring for Marywood just over twelve minutes into the game, which had a delayed start due to lightning strikes in the area.  Erica Mechalke (Elmira, NY/Elmira Notre Dame) was credited with the assist after making a long run down the left flank and finding Hanselman on a cross.

Just over twenty minutes later, however, Delaware Valley would knot that game at 1-1 when Jessica Stahley took an errant Pacer clear at the top of the 18 and put one across the goal-line.  Marywood sweeper Tori Mazza (Binghamton, NY/Seton Catholic) tried to make a clearance at the goal line but the ball had already crossed the plane.

Marywood and Delaware Valley then traded opportunities for much of the second half with each squad generating dangerous attacks.  However, Aggie keeper Cortney Bower (six saves) and Marywood goaltender Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) each made several quality stops to keep the game at 1-1.

For the game, Coyle registered 2 saves.  Marywood held a 14-8 advantage in shots and a 3-0 advantage in corners.  The Pacers return to action Thursday when they host Cedar Crest College in the PAC opener for both schools at 4:00 pm.
