BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Marywood had its three game winning streak snapped as visiting Neumann College rallied to take a lead late in the first and held on the rest of the way to score a 65-62 win over the Pacers in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.  The loss drops the Pacers to 5-5 overall and 0-3 in the conference while the Knights improve to 4-8 and 2-3 in the PAC.

Marywood started the game with a 9-0 run over the game's first four minutes and held the lead for most of the first half.  However, Neumann used a pair of 7-0 runs of their own to eventually take the lead.  The first began with 12:59 to play in the half and brought the score to 16-15 in favor of the Pacers, while the second gave Neumann their first lead of the contest with just 1:57 to play in the half.

The two teams swapped the lead five times the rest of the half, the last coming on a three pointer by the Knights' Na'Sheed Linton as the horn sounded and gave the visitors a 32-31 halftime lead.

Matthew Medici (Princeton, NJ) led the Pacers with 11 first-half points, while Jerome Gosney (Binghamton, NY) added seven.  Linton led the Knights with 10 points.

The Pacers would retake the lead early in the second half when Joshua Pena (New York City, NY) hit a three-pointer to make the score 36-35.  However, the Knights would outscore Marywood 16-5 over the next 6:22 to take a 10-point lead.

Marywood battled back and narrowed Neumann's lead to just 2 points with 2:50 remaining in the game, but that is as close as the Pacers would come as the Knights rattled of a 7-0 run over the next two minutes to put the game out of reach.

Marywood was led by Medici who finished the afternoon with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Joshua Pena added 14 points and three assists.  Karl Anderson (Northampton, PA) chipped in 11 points and four rebounds for the Pacers, who shot 51 percent from the floor and 38.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Eli Hitchens led Neumann with a game-high 22 points and six rebounds, while Derahn Patrick contributed 14 points and five rebounds.  Linton rounded out the game's double-digit scorers with a 12 point, four assist effort.

Marywood will return to action on Monday with their first game away from the Insalaco Arena in nearly a month when they visit Centenary College for a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference game scheduled to tip-off at 8:00 p.m.
