Poor Shooting Dooms Marywood at Cabrini

Radnor, PA - Freshman Glenn Washington led all scorers with 23 points as the Cabrini College men's basketball team defeated Marywood University 85-38 this afternoon. The Cavaliers improve to 6-9, 3-3 in the PAC while the Pacers drop 6-7 (0-5 PAC).

Washington added five assists, four rebounds and three steals on the day, while teammate Randy Reid added 13 points and a team-best six rebounds. Eleven players scored for the Cavaliers on the day.

The Cavaliers finished 30-of-60 (50.0%) from the field and connected on 10 three-point field goals.  Cabrini dished out 22 assists and tallied 19 steals.

The Pacers turned the ball over 31 times and connected on just ten field goals.  The lone bright-spot of the day for the Pacers came off the glass as Marywood out-rebounded Cabrini 45-42 and the Pacers pulled down 18 offensive boards.  Marywood freshman Nick Stoud (Gibson, PA) was the only Pacer to reach double-figures as he earned his first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 10 boards. 

Less than four minutes into the contest, the Cavaliers built an 11-point lead with a 12-1 scoring run. Midway through the half, Cabrini's Matt Walsh put the Cavaliers in front by 17 points with a three-point basket.  The Cavaliers held a 39-21 break at the half, scoring 22 points off the Pacers' turnovers.

In the second half, Cabrini held its largest lead of the contest (52) with 4:33 remaining in the contest. 

Marywood returns to action Monday when the Pacers travel to Immaculata University for a 7:00 pm PAC contest.
