Scranton, PA – Joshua Pena scored a career-high 28 points and Matthew Medici recorded his fourth double-double of the season to help lead Marywood to an 80-71 victory of visiting Keystone College on Saturday afternoon.  With the win the Pacers evened their record at 4-4, while the loss dropped the Giants to 5-5.

Marywood built a nine-point lead at the end of the first half thanks to strong shooting from three-point range.  Strong inside play by Matthew Medici (Princeton, NJ) and Chadli Charlot (Lake Worth, FL) opened up the outside for the Pacers who shot 53.8 percent from beyond the arc in the first half.

Charles Edwards and Tercel Taylor each contributed 12 first-half points for the Giants, who tied the game at 22 with 7:38 left to play in the first half after trailing by as many as five, before being outscored by the Pacers 18-9 the rest of the half.

The Giants whittled away at the Pacers lead for much of the second half, and drew within a single point on two separate occasions, the first with 13:43 to play, and the second with just 5:47 to play.

However, Marywood put together a 13-6 run over the next 3:50 to build an 11 point lead and put the game out of reach.

Marywood enjoyed a strong shooting day in which they shot 50.9 percent from the floor, including 52.2 percent from three-point land.  The Giants finished the afternoon 43.9 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Pena led all scorers with his career high 28 points, while Medici tossed in 19 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.  Reinhard contributed 15 points for the Pacers on five three-point field goals.
