BOX SCORE

Johnson City, NY – Anthony Kapp scored two first-half goals and Nick Stoud set up a pair as Marywood University earned its fifth-straight victory with a 4-1 win over Davis College on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.  With the win, the Pacers improved to 7-2 on the season while the Falcons fell to 3-3.

Kapp (Duncannon, PA) gave Marywood a 2-0 halftime lead by scoring a pair of goals within a five minute span early in the match. In the eighth minute, Nick Stoud (Gibson, PA) stole the ball off the foot of a Davis defender in the box and crossed the ball to Kapp who scored with a one-time finish.

In the 13th minute, Kapp took advantage of another Falcon turnover and blasted a volley from 16 yards out into the side-netting for his third goal of the season.

Marywood caught a break just 1:57 into the second half to extend their lead to 3-0. Brian Wasser (Telford, PA) played a dangerous free kick into the box that a Falcon defender misplayed into his own net for an own goal.

The Pacers then put the game out of reach in the 52nd minute as Brett Megee (Easton, PA) headed home a throw-in from Stoud, who recorded his third assist of the year on the play, tying him for the team lead in the assist column.

Davis College's Evan Hickernall, the Falcons most dangerous player all afternoon, earned a penalty kick for the hosts in the 78th minute and then made no mistake by burying his shot to the left of Marywood goalkeeper John Albanese, spoiling the freshman's bid for his first collegiate shutout.

The Pacers finished the day with a commanding 30-7 edge in shots and a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Albanese (Nanticoke, PA) made two saves on the afternoon to pick up the win while his counterpart, Nate Benner, made 10 stops for the Falcons.

Marywood will put their five-game winning streak on the line this Saturday when they host Neumann College in a CSAC match-up scheduled for 12:00 noon.
