Pacers Earn 9-0 Win Over BBC, Wrap-Up #3 Seed in CSACs

Scranton, PA - Marywood University improved to 8-2 in CSAC action and wrapped-up the number three seed in this weekend's Colonial States Athletic Conference Team Championships with a 9-0 win over visiting Baptist Bible College Wednesday afternoon in Scranton. With the win the Pacers close the regular season with a 9-4 overall record, while the Defenders fall to 3-10 (3-7 CSAC).

Marywood made quick work of doubles action as the team of Ryann Null (Williamsport, PA) and Jodi Balch (Matamoras, PA) were 8-0 winners over Katie Boger and Kellie Bernard. Aubrey Klesh (West Hazleton, PA) and Ashley Karli (Blandon, PA) then topped Baptist Bible's #2 team of Carrie Brame and Glenna Mead 8-2, while Marywood's three-doubles team of Morgan Fereck (Duryea, PA) and Beth Schneider (Port Jervis, NY) were 8-1 winners.

In singles action, the tightest match of the day occured in the top flight as Null edged Boger 6-2, 7-6 (9-7). Schneider, Amy Doot (Hawthorne, PA) and Sarah Lockenmeyer (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ) were all 6-0, 6-0 winners at 4-6 singles, respectively. Karli was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at 2-singles over Bernard, and Balch earned a 6-1, 6-0 win over Brame at 3-singles.

The Pacers will take on two-seed Cabrini College in the CSAC semifinals Saturday at the Heathplex in Springfield, PA. The winner of Saturday's semifinal will play Sunday against the winner of the 1-4 matchup between Gwynedd-Mercy College (10-0 CSAC) and Neumann College (7-3 CSAC).
