BOX SCORE

Immaculata, PA – Brett Megee scored with 33 seconds remaining in the second overtime period to lift visiting Marywood University to a thrilling 2-1 win over Immaculata University in Colonial States Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon. The Pacers, who improved to 8-1 on the road this season, are now 10-5 overall on the season including a 4-2 mark in CSAC play. The loss dropped the Mighty Macs to 7-5-2 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

Marywood absorbed much pressure over the game's first 20 minutes, but Immaculata was unable to find the back of the net. The Pacers settled down and Nate Wenger (Lititz, PA) provided a much-needed spark off the bench and was able to put pressure on the host team's backs. In the 43rd minute, Wenger made a baseline run with the ball and fed Anthony Kapp (Duncannon, PA) in front of the net who scored to give Marywood a 1-0 lead the team would take into halftime.

Immaculata's Gio DeMartini, left unmarked at the Pacers' back post, tied the match at 1-1 at the 58:07 mark by one-timing a Daniel Arteglier cross past Marywood goalkeeper Jared El-Gayeh (Baldwin, NY). Both squads had several opportunities after the Immaculata equalizer, but could not convert and the teams headed to overtime.

Marywood nearly ended the game in the third minute of overtime, but Mighty Macs' goalkeeper Zack Oas made a spectacular one-handed save on a Chris Rodzewich (Schwenksville, PA) close-range shot.

Immaculata had a golden opportunity of their own in the second minute of the second overtime period as Alan Lorentz's shot clanked off of Marywood's goalpost.

With the game seemingly destined to end in a tie, the Pacers caught a break when Wenger won a loose ball near midfield and played a thru-ball behind Immaculata's back four. Megee (Easton, PA) narrowly beat an onrushing Oas to the ball and his one-time shot just barely rolled across the goal-line to give Marywood the important conference win.

El-Gayeh finished his second-straight solid outing with eight saves in goal for the Pacers to earn the win. Oas made seven saves in the match for the Mighty Macs.

Marywood will return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they host local conference foe Keystone College in another critical CSAC contest. Kickoff in Scranton is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
