BOX SCORE

Radnor, PA – Host Cabrini College jumped out to a quick 3-0 in the first-half of Saturday evening's Colonial States Athletic Conference game against Marywood University and held on for a 4-3 win on a rain-soaked Edith Robb Dixon Field. With the win, the Cavaliers remain unbeaten in conference play (6-0) and improved to 11-3-2 overall on the season, while the Pacers see their record slip to 11-6 overall and 5-3 in the CSAC.

Cabrini's Troy Allen opened the scoring in the 16th minute when his free kick from 25 yards out skipped past Marywood goalkeeper Jared El-Gayeh and just inside the far post.

The Cavaliers extended their advantage to two in the 30th minute after Allen sent a long free-kick beyond Marywood's defense that King Saah ran onto and deposited into the back of the net. Allen netted his fourth point of the night, and second assist of the game, just over four and a half minutes later as his long free kick slipped through El-Gayeh's hands and onto the foot of Brian Moran who scored into an empty net.

Marywood trimmed the Cavaliers lead to two with just over a minute and a half to play in the opening stanza as Jordan Krawitz (Shavertown, PA) one-timed home a cross from Richard Fifi (Trinidad and Tobago) for his first goal of the season.

Patrick Tobey restored Cabrini's three-goal cushion in the 63rd minute after Justin McCall stripped a Marywood defender of the ball and sent a cross from the baseline that Tobey slotted past Marywood goalkeeper John Albanese, who replaced El-Gayeh in the second half.

Tobey's goal would prove to be all-important as the resilient Pacers battled back to make a game of it. In the 76th minute, Marywood's Tony Roma (Endicott, NY) played a ball to Fifi, who flicked the pass through to Nathan Wenger (Lititz, PA) who scored to narrow the Pacers' deficit to two.

With just eight minutes to play, Mikhail Attong (Trinidad and Tobago) played a long restart into the Cavaliers' penalty area. Chris Rodzewich (Schwenksville, PA) headed Attong's serve to Brett Megee, who headed the ball past Cabrini goalkeeper Bryan Johnson for his team-leading seventh goal of the year.

Marywood pressured the Cavaliers defense looking to complete an improbable comeback and tie the match, but were unable to get another clear look at the goal as Cabrini held on for the win.

The Cavaliers held an 11-9 advantage in shots and a slim 5-4 edge in corner kicks on the evening.

El-Gayeh (Baldwin, NY) played the first half for Marywood and finished with three saves while Albanese logged the second 45-minute period, notching one save. Johnson made three saves to pick up the win for Cabrini.

Marywood, who completed the best regular season in program history, will sit idle for the next week awaiting the results of the remaining CSAC schedule which will determine the Pacers' playoff hopes.
