Scranton, PA - Immaculata University's Anne Marie Popgoshev took advantage of sloppy field conditions and slotted a ball through Marywood goalkeeper Meghan Coyle's legs in the 66th minute of play as the visiting Mighty Macs upset Marywood University 1-0 in CSAC women's soccer action Saturday afternoon in rainy Scranton. The loss was the first of the year for the Pacers at home and in CSAC play (11-4-1, 8-1), while the Mighty Macs clinched a post-season playoff berth with their fifth conference win of the year (7-7-2, 5-3).

Popgoshev's goal came as rainy conditions worsened in the second half of play on Marywood's sloppy grass field. The freshman from California, Maryland took a through ball, dribbled past a defender and slotted a ball which found its way to the back of the net. From there, stellar play by goaltender Jessica Gaburo (Pittsgrove, NJ) secured the first playoff berth in women's soccer history for the Mighty Macs. Gaburo made seven saves, including several from point-blank range, to keep the Pacers off the board. Marywood's Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) made two saves in the losing effort.

Marywood, who clinched the #1 seed in the upcoming CSAC tournament prior to today's game, will close out their regular season next Thursday when the Pacers visit Keystone College in nearby LaPlume. Kickoff is set for 3:00 pm.
