Marywood Evens Record, Tops Misericordia 7-2

Dallas, PA - Marywood University closed their fall 2008 playing season by evening their record at 1-1 with a 7-2 triumph over Misericordia University Saturday afternoon in Dallas.  A week after falling to Wilkes, Marywood bounced back and swept doubles action and won at 1-4 singles play.

Greg Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) and Dan Reynolds teammed for a 8-5 win at 1-doubles, and Reynolds (Meriden, CT) followed with a three-set win at four-singles, topping Matt Hopkins 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 10-3.  Chilson also picked up a win, winning 6-4, 6-3 over Fred Hockenbury in the 1-singles spot.

The Pacers, who finished the 2008 campaign with a 12-2 mark, were unbeaten in regular season conference play with a 7-0 record but fell 5-4 to Neumann College in the PAC Championship match.  Marywood will be back on the court in the spring on March 13 when they host Baptist Bible College at 3:00 pm in CSAC action.
