Clarks Summit, PA – Two first half goals for Marywood was enough for the Pacers to get a 2-1 win on the road as they defeated Baptist Bible in women's soccer Tuesday.  With the win, Marywood improves to 5-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) and 8-4-1 overall.  Baptist Bible College falls to 8-2 overall and 4-2 in conference with the loss.

In the first half, Marywood got on board first as Amanda Costello (Sussex, NJ) put a ball coming across the goal in the back of the net at the 26:44 mark. Shortly before the end of the half, Claudia Mazza (Binghamton, NY) made it 2-0 on a corner kick from Shannon Hresko (Gibbstown, NJ) that skipped past the keeper and Mazza cut in front of the goal for the score.

In the second, Baptist Bible seemed to gain momentum by coming out hard and pressing the Marywood defense and with 19:22 to play got the break they were looking for when Sandy Richie put her team on the board when a redirected ball gave her a clear run at the net.

BBC made a few more runs before the horn but could not tie the game as the Pacers grab an important mid-season conference win. Both keepers, Melanie Williams (Scranton, PA) for BBC and the Pacer's Meghan Coyle (Endicott, NY) went the distance in net and had five saves each for their teams.

Marywod hosts Gwynedd-Mercy College Saturday at 12:00 pm in CSAC action.
