BOX SCORE

Doylestown, PA – Marywood University scored two goals in the first 4:06 of the contest as the Pacers went on to a 3-0 victory over host Delaware Valley College in a non-conference game Wednesday afternoon. The win was the sixth in the last seven games for Marywood as it improved to 8-3 on the season. The Aggies saw their record fall to 3-7-1.

The game was just two minutes and 11 seconds old when Anthony Kapp (Duncannon, PA) deftly flicked a Tony Roma (Endicott, NY) cross over Delaware Valley goalkeeper Tristan Preece and into the net for his fourth goal of the season.

Less than two minutes later, Lee Powers (Lock Haven, PA) split the Aggies' defense with a thru-ball to Brett Megee (Easton, PA) who scored just inside the far post for his fourth goal off the season, tying him with Kapp for the team lead.

Marywood increased their advantage with 19:41 remaining in the first half as a loose ball bounced off Preece and went right to Alex Dawson, who netted his second goal of the year. It remained a three-goal contest the rest of the way as Marywood held a 19-4 advantage in shots and a 4-3 edge in corners.

John Albanese stopped two shots to notch his first collegiate shutout for the Pacers. Preece (four saves), Steve Richtmyer (three saves) and Eddie Bennett (one save) all saw time in net for the Aggies.

Marywood will return to action this Saturday when they host Gwynedd-Mercy College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference game scheduled to kickoff at 3:00 p.m.
