Pacers' Playoff Hopes Dashed as Marywood Falls at PBU

Langhorne, PA - Host Philadelphia Biblical University jumped out early and never looked back as the Crimson Eagles knocked Marywood University out of the CSAC playoff picture with a dominating 3-0 win over the visitors Saturday afternoon in Langhorne. Needing a win to clinch a playoff berth, Marywood ran into an opponent on a five-game winning streak and lost by scores of 25-10, 25-18, 25-17. Marywood (10-13, 5-5 CSAC) fell one-win short of a playoff berth while PBU improved to 25-9 (9-1 CSAC).

A 10-kill, eight-dig performance from Rebecca Williams highlighted the win for the hosts as Betsy Ranck had 21 assists and added eight digs as well. Marywood's Natasha Freethy (Honesdale, PA) had a team-high six kills while a trio of Pacers had five digs apiece.

The Pacers also fell to Susquehanna University by a 3-0 score to close out the day. The Crusaders scored consecutive wins of 25-10, 25-14, and 25-11 to close out Marywood's season.  In their second match of the day, the Pacers were led by Freethy's four kills and Rionna Corr's (Somersworth, NH) 11 assists.  Emily Fillman (Clarion, PA) added a team-best seven digs in the loss.

Marywood closes out their season with a 10-14 mark.
