BOX SCORE

Immaculata, PA - Sidney Tharpe poured in 25 points to lead three Marywood University players in double-figures but it was not enough as the visiting Pacers fell to Immaculata University 82-75 in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's basketball action Monday evening in Immaculata.  The win moves the defending Conference Champion Mighty Macs to 2-3 (1-1 CSAC) while Marywood fell to 5-4 (1-2 CSAC).

Tharpe (Victorville, CA) registered 25 points for the second time this season on 9 of 21 shooting, including five three pointers, to lead a trio of Pacers in double-digits.  Joshua Pena (New York, NY) and John Foreman (Sleepy Hollow, NY) had 15 and 14, respectively.  The host Might Macs placed four players in double-figures, as Kyle Finklea also poured in 25 on the night to share game-high honors with Tharpe.  Finklea was the only player to register a double-double however as he grabbed 12 defensive boards on the night.

Immaculata would race out to an early 7-2 lead but Marywood scored the next nine points to grab a 11-7 lead just over four minutes into the game.  The Pacers would hold the lead for much of the first half, until a three-pointer by Immaculata's Sean Fordham knotted the game at 28-28 with 4:09 left in the opening frame  From there, the hosts used a 10-0 run to extend their lead, but a pair of free throws by Pena keyed a 8-2 run by Marywood to close the half as the Pacers went into the break down just three, 40-37.

Marywood reclaimed a 41-40 lead on a Tharpe lay-up at the 18:21 mark of the second half and would not relinquish the lead until a Finklea jumper put Immaculata back on top 47-46 with just over 15 minutes to play.  A traditional three-point play by Foreman gave the Pacers the lead back (49-47), but Fordham hit a three with 14 minutes left to put the Mighty Macs back up by one, 50-49.  Pena responded with a three of his own to give Marywood a 52-50 lead, but a quick 7-0 run by Immaculata put the hosts ahead for good.

Marywood managed to climb back to within two (75-73) with 1:31 left, but Immaculata closed the game on a 7-2 run to pick up the win.

The Pacers return to action on December 19 when they host Delaware Valley College in non-conference action.  Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm at the Insalaco Arena.
