BOX SCORE

Scranton, PA – Stephanie Roberts scored 8 of 11 points and was a perfect six of six from the free throw line for Centenary College in overtime as the visiting Cyclones topped host Marywood University 65-63 in PAC women's basketball action Thursday evening in Scranton.  The win moves the Cyclones to 13-5 (8-3 PAC) while the Pacers fall to 11-9 (4-8 PAC).

After Marywood battled back to force an extra frame, Roberts took over, mostly on the charity stripe, on the way to collecting a game-high 21 points and 15 rebounds.  Down 64-60 with 5.6 seconds left to play, Bryanne Unger (Tower City, PA) banked in a three-pointer for the Pacers, but Marywood was forced to foul and then failed in attempt on a full-court shot with 1.8 seconds left.

The first half saw back-and-forth action over the opening ten minutes of play resulting in a 10-10 tie.  Centenary would break open an 11-point lead (25-14) by using a 6-0 run and a 9-4 run over the next five minutes, but the Pacers closed the final 2:30 of the half on a 5-0 run of their own to go into halftime down six, 25-19.

The Pacers hit just one of six shots from behind the arc in the first stanza and the Cyclones were able to collect seven second-effort points and force 13 Marywood turnovers in the opening period.  While the Cyclones' shooting performance only resulted in 25% shooting from the floor, Centenary did manage to hit 5 of 15 three pointers to build their first half lead.  Stephanie Roberts led Centenary in the first half with seven points and nine rebounds, while Marywood's Amanda Lass (Brackney, PA) pulled down eight first-half boards, all on the defensive end.

Kristen Camuso had 13 points for the Cyclones while Catherine Olmstead had 12 and nine rebounds.  Stephanie Fusaro led Marywood with 15 points on 7 of 19 shooting, while Caitlin Hadzimichalis added 13, including five in a crucial stretch over the last 20 seconds of regulation to force overtime.  Unger finished with 10 points.

Marywood returns to action Saturday when they visit Eastern University in St. Davids.  Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
