West Palm Beach, FL – Marywood came out of the gates slowly in the program's first-ever game and was unable to recover as the Pacers fell to Curry College 18-3 Friday morning in West Palm Beach, Florida. The Colonels improved their record to 3-2 on the season with the win, while the Pacers start the 2008 campaign 0-1.
Curry was able to capitalize on Marywood's slow start and take control of the game early. However, the Pacers were able to regroup and play the Colonels evenly throughout the rest of the game.
Alanna Waldron (Liverpool, NY) netted the first two goals in Pacers history, while Allie Sodl (Coplay, PA) scored a marker of her own.
Katie Sullivan (Merrick, NY) played well in goal for Marywood, making 19 saves in a busy 60 minutes of play.
Marywood will enjoy 10 day off before they return to action against Misericordia University on Tuesday, March 25th in Dallas, PA. The Pacers' conference-opener against the Cougars will face-off at 4:00 p.m.
