Marywood Drops Double-Overtime Decision to Cedar Crest

Allentown, PA – Marywood rallied from a three-goal deficit with seven minutes left in regulation to force overtime, then tied the game again in the first overtime period only to fall 11-10 to Cedar Crest as Bailey Bedell scored her third goal of the game with 2:51 remaining in the second overtime.   The win moves the Falcons to 1-5 on the season and 1-2 in the PAC while the Pacers slipped to 0-3 and 0-1 in conference play.

Alanna Waldron (Liverpool, NY) put Marywood ahead just 1:13 into the contest before Bedell and Amanda Dombroski scored to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead.  Kelly Kuzicki (Vernon, NJ), Laura Gierman (Columbus, NJ) scored unassisted goals to put the Pacers back in front before Allie Sodl (Coplay, PA) set up Waldon to give the visitors a 4-2 advantage. 

Brianna Adam scored with just two seconds left in the first half off of Kelly Oakes' second assist to bring the Falcons within one at halftime.

Marywood regained its two-goal edge when Jen Silvestri (Warwick, NY) scored 27 seconds into the second half before Cedar Crest tied the score at five on consecutive goals by Bedell and Jesenia Holguin. 

Genevieve Vidas (Old Bridge, NJ) gave the Pacers a 6-5 lead when she scored unassisted with 21:35 left to play, but the hosts responded with four straight goals including three by Adam, giving the Falcons a 9-6 lead.

Gierman scored unassisted at the seven minute mark and Waldron completed her hat-trick 57 seconds later before Vidas netted her second goal of the game with 4:21 to play to force overtime.

In the first overtime, Adam netted her fifth goal of the game at the 1:10 mark before Gierman equalized with 25 seconds left in the extra frame on a free position shot.

Cedar Crest would prevail when Thersia Ault set up Bedell's game-winner with 2:51 to play in the second overtime period.

Katie Sullivan (Merrick, NY) made 16 saves for the Pacers, who out-shot the Falcons 34-27 on the afternoon.  Devin Ursini picked up the win for the Falcons after turning aside 14 Pacers' shots.

Marywood will play their third game in five days this Saturday when they take on Centenary College in the Pacers' home opener.  The PAC tilt is scheduled to face-off at 11:00 a.m.
