Hackettstown, NJ – After scoring an average of more than 14 goals over their last three games, Marywood's attack struggled as Centenary prevailed 8-5 and handed the Pacers their first loss of the season in Saturday afternoon's Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match-up. The Cyclones snared their first victory of the year and are now 1-6 on the season and 1-2 in conference play while Marywood sees their record slip to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the PAC. 
 
Marywood and Centenary traded goals in the first period Nate Small scored with the Cyclones a man-up to give his team the lead at the 9:19 mark before Ryne Boyle (Farmingville, NY) scored off a feed from Andrew Harman (Patchogue, NY).

Jamie Beagen (Patchogue, NY) put the Pacers in front with an unassisted extra-man goal just 13 seconds into the second quarter before Boyle gave Marywood a two-goal lead with an man-up goal of his own.  Brian Roerden (Warwick, NY) set up Boyle's second goal of the day.

Jason Reig's extra-man goal with 2:12 to play in the period brought the Cyclones to within one, but George Downey (Palmyra, PA) scored of an an Andrew Lozoskie (Forest Hill, MD) helper with 1:03 to play and Stephen Klepfer tallied an unassisted marker 12 seconds later to give the Pacers a 5-2 halftime advantage.

The second half was a different story as the Cyclones shut down Marywood's attack the rest of the way, outscoring the Pacers 6-0 over the contest's final two quarters.  Small scored a piar of goals to complete his hat-trick, while Reig added a second tally.  Ryan Mangold and Joe Swantkoski also scored in Centenary's second-half rally. 
 
Centenary held a commanding 40-19 edge in shots on the afternoon, while the Pacers picked up 36 ground ball to the Cyclones' 27.  Marywood converted two of five extra-man opportunities while Centenary scored five of the 12 times they had the extra-man.

Brian Triolo picked up the win for Centerary after turning aside eight shots from the Pacers.  Jesse Habich (Broomall, PA) suffered his first collegiate defeat despite making 11 saves in another strong outing in the Marywood's net.

The Pacers will try to get back into the win column on Wednesday when they visit Eastern University in a PAC contest scheduled to face-off at 4:00 p.m.
