Immaculata, PA - Marywood University closed PAC regular season play undefeated with a 9-0 win over host Immaculata University Saturday afternoon in men's tennis action. The win clinches the number one seed in next weekend's PAC team championships, to be held at the West End Racquet Club in Allentown, PA. Marywood is a perfect 11-0 (7-0 PAC) on the season while Immaculata remained winless at 0-8 (0-6 PAC).
Marywood opened doubles play by picking up three quick points as the Pacers allowed the Mighty Macs just one point at 1-doubles. Kyle McGee (Wynnewood, PA) and Dan Reynolds (Meriden, CT) are now 9-1 (7-0 PAC) at 1-doubles after the 8-1 win over Bobby DeYoung and Dave Harlan. At 2-doubles, Joe Listanski (Jessup, PA) and Tim Franzone (Staten Island, NY) remained unbeaten (11-0, 7-0 PAC) with a 8-0 win, and Greg Chilson (Mountainside, NJ) and John Domider (Somerville, NJ) moved to 3-0 (3-0 PAC) with a 8-0 win.
McGee cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win over DeYoung at 1-singles to up his record to a perfect 10-0 (7-0 PAC) on the year, while Listanski improved to 10-1 (6-1 PAC) with a 6-0, 6-0 win at 2-singles. Marywood picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at three, four and five singles as well as Chilson, Franzone and Reynolds all won in straight sets, and Domider earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at 6-singles for the Pacers.
Marywood will look to close out the regular season unbeaten Monday when they visit King's College for a non-conference match. The Pacers and Monarchs will do battle at Kirby Park at 3:30pm.
