Edwardsville, PA - Erika Cook belted two doubles and added a homer but it was not enough as Marywood dropped a non-conference softball doubleheader at Wilkes Saturday afternoon at Kirby Park.  The losses drop the Pacers to 16-16 while Wilkes improved to 22-12.

Cook (Wyalusing, PA) went 1-3 in the opener with a double and run scored and went 2-4 with a double and homer in the nightcap, but Cook's offense in the opener was all Marywood would get as they fell 7-1.  Mallory Gable (Hughestown, PA) took the loss on the mound for Marywood after pitching a complete game and allowing seven runs on seven hits.  Gable (5-8) struck out one.

In the nightcap, Wilkes plated six of their seven runs using a big third inning which included three doubles. Marywood, down 7-0 after three, responded with two in the third and with Cook's three-run blast in the seventh but the comeback ended there.  Marywood had eight hits in the nightcap compared to Wilkes' nine.  Lauren Bianchetti (Highland Mills, NY) took the loss on the mound.  Bianchetti (0-3) allowed five earned runs on the day.  Colleen Regan (Endwell, NY) was 2-4 with a double in the nightcap for Marywood.

The Pacers return to action Tuesday when they visit cross-town rival Scranton for a twilight double-header.  First-pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
