St. Davids, PA - Marywood University rebounded from a disappointing 15-6 loss to Eastern Friday afternoon by earning a sweep with the Eagles Saturday afternoon in PAC baseball action.  A pair of late-inning rallies was the difference maker in both games as Eastern took the opener 11-5 and Marywood rallied for the nightcap win, 7-6.

Marywood (13-21, 5-11 PAC) ralled for the win in the nightcap by plating five runs in the top half of the seventh inning.  Down 6-2 after six, Marywood came alive offensively in their last at-bat of the nightcap.  A Mike Castellano (Brooklyn, NY) RBI double started the comeback for the Pacers.  Chris Shewack (Mountaintop, PA) followed with an RBI single to score Castellano, and Marywood would take advantage of a two-base error off the bat of Joe Diskin (Clarks Summit, PA) to score three unearned runs to complete the win.

Korey Evans (Goshen, NY) got the win on the mound for the Pacers in the nightcap after going six innings and allowing three earned runs.  Mark Granquist picked up the save for the Pacers.  Jason Bugno was 3-3 with an RBI for the Pacers, while D'Antonio was 3-4 with two runs scored.

In the opener, Marywood took a 5-0 lead into the bottom half of the fifth in the opener before Eastern scored 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth to earn an 11-5 win.  Marywood started the day right with a four-run fourth highlighted by a Dan D'Antonio (New Milford, CT) two-run double to center.  The Pacers would then go up 5-0 on a D'Antonio sacrifice fly in the fifth, but the Eagles got one run back in the bottom of the fifth and then exploded offensively in the sixth for the win.

Greg Cleary took the loss in the opener for the Pacers after going 5.2 innings.  The senior from Parsippany, New Jersey allowed all 11 Eastern runs on 11 hits.  Cleary struck out seven batters on the day and was replaced by Bill Hall (Lake Ariel, PA) who got the final out.  Joe Diskin (Clarks Summit, PA) and D'Antonio each doubled for Marywood as Diskin went 2-4 and D'Antonio was 1-3 with three RBI.

Marywood returns to action Tuesday night when the Pacers take on Baptist Bible College at PNC Field in Moosic, PA.  The Pacers and Defenders will play under the lights at the stadium of the Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees with first pitch scheduled for 6:00 pm.
