Gwynedd Valley, PA - Jenn Smull went 5-for-6 with three RBI's and three runs scored in two games as Gwynedd-Mercy's swept a PAC Doubleheader from Marywood on Monday.  The Griffins took the opener 3-1 and topped the Pacers 9-1 in five innings in the nightcap. 

An RBI groundout from Jayme DiLeonardo followed by an run scoring single from Smull in the fifth helped break a 1-1 tie as the Griffins went on to win 3-1 in game one. Freshman Heather Morgan scattered six hits with three strikeouts and no walks in the win.

After a double in the first, Smull came around to score on Kate Cassidy's single to center for a 1-0 lead. Cassidy and Jenna Walsh each had two hits apiece.  Marywood responded in the fourth when Caitlin Hadzimichalis (Harmony, NJ) picked up an RBI with a double to left field which scored Megan Haikes (Scranton, PA) but it was the lone run of the game for the Pacers.  Lauren Monaco (Carle Place, NY) took the loss on the mound for the Pacers after pitching a complete-game.  Monaco (3-4) allowed eight hits and just one earned run in the loss. 

Game two saw the Griffins (10-7, 6-2 PAC) score five runs in the second to break open a 1-1 tie to go on and win 9-1 in five innings. DiLeonardo highlighted the inning with a two-run single as she finished 2-for-3 with 3 RBI's.

In the fifth Jenn and Rachel Smull added RBI singles while a sac fly from DiLeonardo gave GM a 9-1 edge.

Freshman Susan Miller allowed just one run on five hits while fanning two and walking just one. 

Stephanie Ziemski (Lake Hiawatha, NJ) went 2-2 for the Pacers (10-12, 2-8 PAC), while Mallory Gable (Hughestown, PA) took the loss on the mound for Marywood.  Kim Flanagan (Monroe, NY) picked up the Pacers' lone RBI in the nightcap with a single to left in the first inning which scored Erika Cook (Wyalusing, PA).

Marywood will look to end their five-game skid on Wednesday when the Pacers travel to nearby LaPlume to take on Keystone College in a non-conference tilt.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
