LaPlume, PA - Marywood University broke a five-game skid with a pair of wins at Keystone College in non-conference softball action Wednesday afternoon in LaPlame.  The Pacers topped the host Giants 8-5 in the opener and got a strong pitching performance from Mallory Gable in the 8-2 game-two win.  Marywood evened their record at 12-12 with the sweep while the Giants slipped to 1-18.

Megan Haikes (Scranton, PA) led the Pacers offensive explosion in the opener with a 3-4, 2-RBI performance.  The senior third baseman had a double and a triple as Marywood belted 13 hits in the opening game as Erika Cook (Wyalusing, PA) and Caitlin Hadzimichalis (Harmony, NJ) each joined Haikes with a double.  The Pacers plated four runs in the second to break open a 1-1 game and take a lead they would not relinquish.    Nikki Belles (Rome, PA) picked up her team-leading fifth win of the season on the mound with a complete-game effort.  Belles (5-1) struck out seven on the day.

In the nightcap, the Pacers got a great pitching performance from Mallory Gable (Hughestown, PA).  Gable (4-5) went the distance on the mound for the Pacers with a seven-inning, eight strike-out performance.  Brittany Davis (Scranton, PA) led the Pacers at the plate in the nightcap going 3-5 with a home-run, the first of her career.  Haikes picked up her second double of the day and Stephanie Ziemski (Lake Hiawatha, NJ) also belted a double.

Marywood returns to action Friday when the Pacers host Cabrini College at 3:00 pm in a key PAC match-up.
